Play Big, Sleep Small

A new way to experience Wildwood Rush…

Over the years we’ve been dreaming up ways to bring even more adventure to Wildwood Rush. Now, we invite you to dream with us, literally!

If you’ve ever really spent time in Northern Michigan you know what an incredible and diverse landscape it is, and if you’ve visited Wildwood Rush, you know what an unbelievable little slice of this paradise we have. Our beautiful rolling hills and hardwood forests make up over 50 acres of pristine land. From the top, glimmering views of Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan have always made me fall silent.

We’re in the works of something big, but oh so small.  Our goal was to find a way for you to connect with our surroundings the way we have. At Wildwood Rush we are making room for you. Would you stay with us?

So Long, For Now…

In 2021 Wildwood Rush has made the difficult decision to maintain closure of all recreation activities and will no longer operate its ziplines. Changing regulations, seasonal workforce shortages, and the pursuit of new opportunities has shown we are ready to hang up the harness.

It has been a wild and wonderful ride over the last ten years. Offering something different, like zip lining, to Northern Michigan has been an exciting challenge. We’ve loved being a part of this community and we will continue to do so, just in new ways.

We thank you for allowing us to bring adventure to your lives.

As always, ZIP ON!”

Dig in, Ride on

New skills, new trails

Adaptation is key. We’ve been hard at work helping our communities and learning new skills to bring new adventures your way! Wildwood Rush has partnered with the Top of Michigan Mountain Bike Association or TOMMBA.  This volunteer effort to build several miles of mountain bike single track at Boyne City’s School Forest Trail benefits not only Northern Michigan’s growing cycling community, but also brings the knowledge of professional trail building to Wildwood Rush.

Do you love mountain biking and want to know more about getting involved? Check out tommba.org to figure out how you can help today!

A little about me.

Over the next year,

those of you checking in on us will be hearing a story. Our story. My story. Past Present and future. So, I figured maybe I should tell you who I am.

Hello, I’m Allison. And I’ve been with Wildwood Rush since the beginning.

Now, I’ve always liked history, knowing the story behind how a thing was created, built, conquered or destroyed makes up the whole of what that thing really is. Knowing the story behind small businesses is inspiring, I find. The humanity of the story makes me feel more connected. Connected to the product, to the adventure, the humans around us, to the world.  So often I find that we get caught up in “what can you do for me” that we forget about the why and the how. I love the why and the how.

I love working with people. Its why I’ve continued to work with Wildwood Rush for nearly ten years. My favorite part of my job is expreinceing this with our guests. For many people this is the first time they’ve zip lined. For others, zip lining may be the most thrilling thing they’ve done in their life. I love that we get to be a part of those memories for you, and for your family.

I’ve always lived in Northern Michigan, in Boyne City. I’ve moved away a few times, but I have always managed to find my way back.  As any local of a tourist-centric town knows, it’s a love/hate relationship. I love sharing this area with guests, I love sharing new places, things to see and abstract places to go. I want people to experience this area the way I have, unspoiled. Quiet. To this day even I still stare out at an open sun-filled forest with childish amazement. This place is here. It’s ours.  I hate how congested my town gets, but I love the hustle and bustle of a warm summer night.

For now, that’s enough. That’s me. Later on it will seem relevant in the way I talk about our area, and the passion I have for sharing it with others and why I love what I do.

Stay tuned: things relevant to changes at Wildwood Rush to come!

Covid-19 and Ziplines

The long and short of it

At Wildwood Rush we are doing all we can to help flatten the curve and stop the spread of COVID-19. That means staying home, staying away from our property, and putting a hold on all spring maintenance and training.

In order put our best zip forward, we have chosen to push back our opening day to June 12th, 2020.

We appreciate your patience as we attempt to navigate these strange and historical times, lets remember we’re in this together, and until we can be together again; stay home, stay safe, and wash your hands.

2020 FAQ

Why did you choose to close?

Better to be safe than sorry. Our guests and guides alike are our top priority. Even when our stay at home order has ended, social distancing is sure to be the new norm for a while, and you can’t socially  distance in a tree.

The season is so long, why close completely?

Much goes into the preparation of our season. Maintenance , training, and equipment costs are all huge factors in getting Wildwood Rush prepared for every season. All of which are usually completed by now. We wouldn’t want to compromise putting our best zip forward.
